Scott Turpin was introduced to his yoga practice at the age of two under the guidance of his mother. Unknowingly incorporating fundamental aspects of yoga into his daily life for the next twenty years, he re-discovered the practice of yoga in 2001 in the pursuit of a healthier life. In 2002 he was invited to his first Ashtanga class and was immediately enamored. Scott’s pursuit of the Ashtanga method led him to the completion of Tim Miller’s teacher training intensive in 2003 as well as intensives with Richard Freeman, Lino Miele, Dena Kingsberg and Nancy Gillgoff. In 2005 Scott had the blessing and opportunity to practice with Sri K. Patthabi Jois in Encinitas during his world tour.

While continuing his Ashtanga practice, Scott has been simultaneously studying the teachings and method of Anusara Yoga® as developed by John Friend. Ashtanga has become an integral part of Scott’s active life. Bringing balance to his combination of outdoor activities, Ashtanga has allowed him to pursue life with an intense passion. It is this passion and intensity that he hopes to share through his teachings. Ultimately, the practice itself, pursued with consistency and precision, is the real teacher. Through a fun and supportive environment, he hopes to facilitate the discovery of joy in the practice that translates to joy in life as the Self is continually revealed.
